I’ve just started working with 2.0 (the NaNo download) and one thing is driving me crazy with curiosity… when I create a new document based on the character template, there is a stock image with a face with a question mark over it on the index card in the upper right. How do I change that to the picture of my character?
I know in the place template, I just drag an image up there and it’s fine. But in the character template, it won’t let me drag an image into that spot, and there’s nothing I can find to click to load an image into that spot. I love the idea of having my character’s image up there, and being able to switch between that and notes (and have the image attached to his sheet, because I had them on separate index cards in the old version). I just can’t figure out how to get it there.
Dragging and dropping works for me, so I don’t know what’s up with that. But if it won’t agree, you can remove the existing image by clicking on the X above it in the inspector. Maybe that helps.
Yes, you should just be able to drag an image onto it. Make sure you are dragging the image from the Finder or from Scrivener’s binder, though - if you are dragging an image out of a text document it might not work.
…and now it’s working and I feel really silly. I know I was trying to pull something in from the finder before. Hm, maybe something was just going wonky with my Mac that night. Thanks, all.
Glad you got it working! Maybe it was an image file type that wasn’t supported? Although most are, so that would be odd - let me know if you have any more problems with it.
All the best,
Keith
P.S. Trivia: Guess who the silhouette belongs to in the “stock image”?
