I would love to be able to import Mellel files in their native format. Is there a facility to do this? 
There isn’t, but there isn’t much that the format would provide that cannot already be done with RTF, so there wouldn’t be a whole lot of advantage to supporting the full Mellel format. Most of the things that would be theoretically gained from that are things we couldn’t implement in the editor anyway.
You are right, but I am guessing that there are a number of your users who also use Mellel (just from reading posts on the board). It would be useful to not have to convert to RTF in Mellel first.
There are no public converters available for the Mellel format, so the only way is convert to RTF before importing.
