Import ver. 1 files to ver 2

I’m using the Nanowrimo preview of 2.0. Not sure if this is a bug in just the preview version or not, but when I tried to open a 1.0 file in 2.0, it told me it needed to update the file, and that it would make a backup.

The only issue is that the new file and the backup were both blank. It had erased everything from the original file.

Thankfully, the file I was trying to import was backed up in several places, but it might be something worth looking into. I’d hate to see someone lose their work.

Other than that, I’m loving the new version.

That certainly doesn’t sound right! But strangely, there shouldn’t be any way that the backup can become blank, because Scrivener doesn’t touch it - it just uses standard Finder methods to make a copy of it. Sorry for the obvious question, but are you sure it was updating the correct file? Or did you perhaps try several times, so that there is an older back up that isn’t blank?

Are there any errors on the console (~/Applications/Utilities/Console.app)?

How big is the project?

Thanks,
Keith
