Importing Multimarkdown into Scrivener 3

How does one import Multimarkdown files into Scrivener 3?

Scrivener 2 had an Import > Multimarkdown File… menu item, but it’s gone in 3, and I see nothing about it in the manual.

Does the simple File > Import > Files not do what you want?

Or you can drag and drop MMD files from the Finder to the Binder.

In both cases, Scrivener imports and stores the files with the MMD intact.

By default, Scrivener should be configured to import md, mmd, and markdown extensions.

Import MultiMarkdown has been incorporated into the Import and Split feature. Given that importing an MMD file split it up anyway, it seemed silly having it as a separate feature. So, just go to File > Import > Import and Split and choose the file, exactly as you would have done with Import > MultiMarkdown File in Scrivener 2. Ensure the option is selected for splitting by Markdown headers, and it will work the same. (In the next update there will also be an option to convert MMD to rich text on import for those who want that.)

Hope that helps.

All the best,
Keith
