I am very new to Scrivener, so may have lots of questions (I downloaded it yesterday, am still evaluating it, and expect to buy it).
I tried to import a Web page, but got told “the page … could not be imported”.
Am I doing something wrong (I tried to put it in the Research folder), is it a Scrivener problem, or what? What’s the best thing to do?
Did you try just one web page or more?
The reason I’m asking this is that I never had any problems importing web pages into Scrivener but recently got the same error message as you when I tried to import a webpage with an url that contained a German umlaut.
Did the url of the web page you tried to import contain any non-standard characters? If so this is not a Scrivener but an OS problem.
Scrivener’s import web page method can be a bit temperamental at times purely because it isn’t a full web application. If this happens, try saving the web page as a .webarchive from Safari and then dragging the webarchive into Scrivener - that should always work. The next update tells you to do this in the event that a web page won’t import properly.
