I’m trying Scrivener and just imported a Word doc. In doing so I lost all quotation marks that were in the Word doc. How do I keep those in when importing into Scrivener. Likewise, when exporting back into Word, there were a lot of underscores (___) where quotation marks used to/should be. What do I need to do to keep the formating the same from one to the other? Thanks.
That sounds rather strange - and shouldn’t happen. Does the Word document have the .doc extension (which is important)? Perhaps you could send a Word document that exhibits this behaviour upon import to support@literatureandlatte.com so I can see what is happening?
Thanks,
Keith
Cool. For future reference, Scrivener depends on the extensions of files to decide how to import them. If there is no extension, it imports a file as plain text - which will lead to lots of hidden characters and weirdness for any files that are not truly plain text. Unfortunately, there is no better way of deciding a file’s format other than its extension even on the Mac.
Best,
Keith
