Include in compile

How can one include/exclude a group of documents from compilation ?

Thanks,
Pierre

Hello Pierre, and welcome to the forum.

On the right-hand side of the main compile panel, you can untick the box next to each document that you do not want included in the compile. If you want to include them again later, you’ll mark the box again.

There are also a number of options under the “funnel” icon to the right of the dropdown menu at the top of that right-hand pane. And the menu itself allows you to select specific folders.

Please be careful with the “funnel” in particular. Sometimes people enable those options, forget they’ve done so, and can’t figure out why Scrivener refuses to include certain documents.

Thank you for your quick reply, Ruth. However, I am looking for a way to bunch a series of documents together to save time.

Best,
Pierre

Somehow, I can’t seem to be able to locate the “funnel” icon.

Sounds like you are in need of Collections. Add the documents you want to compile into a collection and then select that in the Compile dialogue.

Do it in the Compile screen, where you can select a bunch of documents and turn the compile flag on or off with ⌥click. If nothing is selected, it toggles all the boxes.
