When I set the interface language of Scrivener to German, there is an inconsistency in the translation of one menu item:

```nohighlight
View > Text Editing > Hide Markup
```

is translated as _Markierung ausblenden_ (literally “Hide Marking” or “Hide Highlighting”), while

```nohighlight
View > Text Editing > Display Markup
```

is translated as _Markup einblenden_.

I had some difficulty identifying the correct menu item to display markup again after hiding it, when I couldn’t find the name I was looking for.

Also, I understand _markup_ to mean either italics, boldface, and underlining, or the code of a markup language such as HTML or Markdown, while in my case the menu item hides the formatted links to comments (and does not hide text markup). I therefore find _markup_ a misleading name for what that menu item does, both in English and German. In German _Markierung_ actually seems more fitting, as what is hidden is the marker of the links.

If I had to make a recommendation, I would choose “Hide/Show Comment Link Marker” in English and “Kommentarlink ausblenden/einblenden” in German.
