Index Card Sizes and more

Hello -

I searched but did not find where anyone had formally requested to print to index cards other than 3" x 5", so I will request it now. I prefer 4" x 6" cards and my printer (HP 7100 all-in-one) has a tray that feeds that size through perfectly. So it would be very helpful to me to be able to print my corkboard cards onto actual 4" x 6" cards.

Now, I can print onto the 4x6 cards, but the formatting is still for 3x5 cards, so there’s extra room around the margins that would better be utilized for the text rather than left empty.

It also seems there should be a more obvious, easier to navigate, way to set-up and format index cards to print rather than through page setup-scrivener-options, which is very atypical and therefore difficult to figure out (I had to look it up in the manual, finally, then write myself a cheat-sheet on a 4x6 card).

Thank you,
Mary.

I wouldn’t agree with you that having print settings in the standard OS X place for print settings is atypical. Perhaps non-Apple software that does not follow conventions uses another way of handling print options, and that is what you are used to (Word, perhaps?) so it seems strange. But this is in fact the way print settings are supposed to be handled in normal Mac programs.

Anyway, that aside, I’ll check with Keith and see what he thinks about a selection between postcard and indexcard size. Do you use Avery stock, or just feed standard cards into the front of the printer?
