I need to be able to insert a page break into a document. I cannot do this by splitting my document into more documents to use the page breaks compiling would give me, as I am working in a script format, and creating a new doc for every single page of a script would be bonkers.
Does this function exist?
Insert → Break → Page Break.
I would recommend checking your final output document for anomalous page breaks, though. Adding them manually can sometimes produce odd results due to interactions with the page layout engine.

I wonder what you are up to. It sounds like you mean to insert manual page breaks for every (would-be) page.
If you are working on a comic script, I would totally make separate documents for each page. That doesn’t seem crazy at all. In the case of a graphic novel, I can see why it might give you pause!
But, on the other hand, if you are working on a stageplay or screenplay, and want to adhere to scriptwriting standards, you should not force page breaks. Scriptwriting formats are set up so the natural page breaks mean something and you mess with this if you force page breaks to happen somewhere else.
If you need to see your script paginated without compiling, toggle on Page Layout View. This function was designed for scriptwriters who need to pay attention to how what they are writing is rolling out page-wise. Not for the typographic look of things, but because [as you may know] pages = (roughly) staged minutes.
It’s not that mysterious (… or is it?).
Re-reading what I wrote, I can see what you’re asking about. In this case, it is a GN format script, so when I say ‘page’ I do mean it in the sense of ‘page of the finished work’ rather than ‘page of the script itself’. For me it’s just that seperating these pages into individual documents confuses and frustrates me. I’d do it if I had to, but I’d grumble about it.
I do also have some scripts in the screenplay format, and I had forgotten about the page per minute math. Thank you!
