Hello, I’ve been using Scrivener for years but I’ve just discovered the joys of writing in composition mode with a photo backdrop. This is working great except for one problem: even though my Scrivener is set to “light” appearance, the inspector is dark in composition mode and I can’t really read the footnotes I add as a result. Please see the attached screenshot to see what I mean. Can someone please tell me how to fix this? Thank you very much! All the best, Meghan
It seems like Scrivener just needed to restart to fully transition into light mode? The inspector seems to have been stuck in dark mode yesterday but today everything is light.
Thanks for the report! This can be reproduced if Composition Mode is currently closed, while switching modes (presumably also automatic switching if it is set to follow the System, and the system changes based on the time of day, but I didn’t check that specifically).
Fortunately you do not have to completely close the software to fix it. The bug only happens while it is closed, so if you use the Scrivener ▸ Appearance submenu to switch modes while in Composition with the inspector showing, it will toggle correctly, and fix the problem if it has already occurred.
