inspector: formatting footnotes and comments

I installed scrivener 2.0 and opened my old procejct from scrivener 1.54. To use the footnotes and comments in the inspector I converted them and changed the format withe

. Which worked out fine. But when I open the project the next time all the old formation is back. I can’t save it.
Thank you for your help!

Hi,

Another user reported something similar to this - changes to comments not changing. I can’t reproduce it though. Can you please provide the exact steps I need to take to see the problem?

(In the meantime, try editing the main text to see if that forces the changes to get saved.)

Thanks!
Keith

Dear Keith,
Thanx for your quick answer. Sorry “editing the main text” does not help.

I made the following steps:

  • install 2.0
  • import old project with inline footnotes & comments
  • change to composite mode
  • select all
  • convert annotation into insector comments
  • convert footnotes into inspector footnotes

in spector:

  • sellect all
  • convert to defaut formattating
  • change colour

Same of the f&c keep the new format, same not.

Hi,

I still can’t reproduce this. Can you do exactly the same again - follow the steps you posted - and get it to happen again?

Also, is there anything specific about which ones keep their formatting and which don’t? For instance, is it only footnotes that lose formatting, or only comments (and remember that footnotes and comments have different formatting by default, so they will be different).

Thanks,
Keith

Dear Keith,
I took an old project and followed the same steps and again it could not save the new format and colour.
I chose the same fomat for f&c. And I can’t find a patten when it save the format and when not… It differs from folder to folder.
