When I try to install Scrivener (on Windows 7), two windows open (see below), and nothing else happens. Can anybody tell me what the problem might be here? Thanks!
Are you using any kind of security or malware software that would prevent it from running? Try whitelisting Scrivener or the installer exe.
Nope.
I suggest you email the L&L support team directly on this one.

Thanks for the suggestions.
In the end, MM’s following hint sorted out the problem:

The installer started fine with the command line trick, and the content of “debug.txt” is “Loading win32 attempt to provide package twapi 2.1 failed: package twapi 2.1.3 provided instead”, if it helps anybody.
I bump into this issue each time I try to install Scrivener on Windows (now on 8.1). The solution is actually much simpler (and I always forget it, so I put it down here).
You should put the Scrivener installer on drive C: (where your windows install is) and it will install fine.
I’m also wondering why only I have problem with this, and nobody else has reported it. It might be because my user folder (and so the Desktop, where I usually download and try to run the installer) is moved to another partition (D:), and I have a junction link in C:\Users pointing to it?
