This is a newbie question, but I haven’t been able to find the answer in the documentation. (which is not to say it isn’t there!)
I am writing a book with a lot of footnotes. Sometimes I want to refer the reader back to another chapter; I want to include a footnote that says something like, “See pages xx-xy for more information.”
How do I include a footnote referencing another location in the document so that it will have correct page reference after compiling?
Unless you are self publishing, I don’t think this is possible. You’ll have to wait until the manuscript is typeset before you know the final page layout, which is when you’ll be able to cross reference with accuracy.
You can use Scrivener links with the <$p> tag to cross reference a section. Section 9.5.5 of the user manual explains how to do this. If you aren’t familiar with Scrivener links generally, you’ll want to back up to the beginning of section 9.5.
