Introduction and Directions

I always get nervous about the care that has gone into building a program when the program says to “go here” and there is no “here”. In this case, the introduction instructions say go to “Step 1: Beginnings” but there is no such animal. The title is apparently “Part 1: Basics”. If such a simple thing can be incorrect, what else do I have to look forward with Scrivener to when the going gets rough?

Jerry, welcome aboard. The developer team is very small and documentation is usually the last thing to get done. It’s difficult to write it before creating the app, and beta software is by definition a work in progress, so I would not look for accuracy in the docs for quite a while. But since you are clearly a good proof-reader, maybe you could help out by noting any glitches and passing them on? Good luck with your writing projects.

Jerry,

Are you trying to use the Interactive Tutorial? If so, then there was apparently an issue in which the Tutorial outline was collapsed on first use, leaving only the “Part 1: Basics” line visible.

(See [url]https://forum.literatureandlatte.com/t/interactive-tutorial/17551/2])

What happens when you expand the Part 1: Basics Line? (Click on the arrow next to it.) You should then see the contents of the tutorial and all you have to do is click on the ‘Step 1: Beginnings’ line and follow the text from there.

It’s actually a plus sign rather than a triangle btw.

Stacey – it’s a triangle on my version of WinScriv. I checked before posting… Don’t know why there’s a difference unless it’s because I’m using Vista 64 under Parallels on a Mac, but it’s definitely a triangle.
