Invisible Synopsis text on load

I’ve been using Scrivener for a few years now, but am only now starting to use the corkboard and Synopsis pane. I’m having some trouble with seeing text in the Synopsis pane. It works fine when I first start a new card and type a synopsis for it, but when I close Scrivener and reopen, it becomes invisible with the default index card settings.

I suspect this might have something to do with my custom Editor font settings (I prefer working with white text on a black background), but I’m not really sure. I was able to work around it by setting my index cards to have a black background, but it’s kind of ugly. Is there anything I can do to use the index cards with their normal white background, with black text, but keep my black background with white text in the editor view?
