iOS attempting to sync nonexistent file

I tried to sync on my iPhone 8+ and confirmed the DC88941C… file does not exist, using:

a) search with Find Any File with Package Contents->Are Shown
b) search with or without Package Contents shown, but packages converted to folders
c) Spotlight search same as (b)

Scrivener or Dropbox is trying to sync a file that doesn’t exist.

In cases like that it’s probably best to reset the sync cache. It could be an internal filename used by the Dropbox client—looks more like a randomly generated name to me. Scrivener Compile Formats are typically named after what you call them on the Mac, like “Kobo Ebook.scrformat”.

Moderator Note: I split this to a new thread—doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the sync engine crashing, to me.
