I have Scrivener on my Windows desktop, and I’ve downloaded the iOS version to my iPad Air. The problem is that the iOS version can’t open a Windows-created Scrivener project on Dropbox, giving the error message, “Invalid project - The project cannot be opened because it does not contain a valid binder structure file. Please insure that the project had been fully uploaded from other devices and then try syncing with Dropbox again.” Any ideas what I should do to fix this? I really want to be able to work on projects in Scrivener on both platforms. Thanks.
Did you transfer the entire .scriv folder to the Dropbox folder on the Windows system?
Katherine
I originally copied and pasted the entire folder in Dropbox, and have saved it as a Scrivener project repeatedly since then. I have also tried doing a “save as” in Scrivener to the Dropbox folder. Nothing works.
What version of Windows Scrivener?
Version: 1.7.1.0
That’s the problem. Only the latest version of Win Scrivener is compatible with iOS Scrivener. You can download it here:
scrivener.s3.amazonaws.com/Scriv … taller.exe

Okay, I had to fiddle with the Dropbox file folders, but I finally got it to work on my iPad. Thanks for the help!
I have the same problem… would you please share what kind of “fiddling” you did with the files to make it work.
Thank you!
Where would I find this entire scrivener folder on Mac OS? I’m getting the same binder message after uploading a .scriv file.
What version of Mac Scrivener do you have?
How exactly did you upload the file? Do you have the Dropbox software installed on your Mac, or did you use the web interface?
