Is it possible to use a Scrivener v3 license to activate a v1 trial?

What it says on the tin. I’ve recommended Scrivener to a friend, but he has a Windows 7 system. So I’d like to know if he could use the old Scrivener 1 with a new Scriv 3 license?

Hi.
No license is required for the trial versions of Scrivener.
If you go to the download page, there is a dropdown with the last V1 version available for download.

I’m aware of that. But real question is: Will someone (if they bought a new license for Scrivener 3) be able to use the license in Scrivener 1?

I see. Sorry about that.
I think you’d have better chances of getting a quick answer on this matter by contacting support directly.
(Although I am pretty sure that V1 requires a V1 license.)

No. The two versions use different licensing engines: Scrivener 1 doesn’t know how to interpret a Scrivener 3 license key.
