Is Scrivener native?

Hello,

I’m thinking of buying Scrivener, however, I’m concerned about its cross-platform nature. Thus I’m asking the following:

  • Is Scrivener native on the respective platforms?
  • If so, does L&L have plans to move it to Electron?

I ask because I’m a software developer and know that the pull of Electron for “business needs” are strong, and Electron apps are universally bad for the customer.

Scrivener is developed separately for each platform. For Mac using the built-in development tools and for Windows using Qt.

By the way, before you do decide to purchase, make sure to download the demo, and use it for some real work—we give you enough time to do so. As a developer you would no doubt spot the Cocoa tells in the UI, but more importantly, be able to give the feature set a solid workout and make sure it’s a good fit for your work.
