Is there a compile setting that will remove full justification in a mobi file?

In theory there should be nothing to remove. Scrivener deliberately, in accordance with most publishing guidelines, does not assign alignment settings to body paragraphs, leaving that choice up to the reader hardware/software.

So I guess what you are saying is since it is not a part of creating or compiling, that the justification comes in the reader platform, after compiling and distribution, meaning we have no control over that.

And boy, is full justification ever ugly on a Kindle.

If the individual reading your book is of the same opinion as you, then they can disable justification in the device’s font and layout settings (the same goes for most ebook display software). That this is preferential is why it should be left alone in the first place.

Well, my wishful thinking would hope that to be true. Apparently with a Kindle, it isn’t.

Hmm, are they perhaps removing that option from newer devices? Mine is a few years old at this point, and with the latest firmware update I can select between fully justified and ragged right alignment, in the “Page Layout” settings screen.
