Hi, I am working on a novel with a lot of action in the chapters and need more space on the corkboard-cards or at least in the Synopsis-field in the right column on the screen. It would be great to be able to make the synopsis a little bit longer and make the Document Notes smaller in return. Is there a way to do that? I also would appreciate more space (or a smaller font) on the corkboard-cards in order to be able to read a synopsis of a longer chapter on the corkboard. Is there a way to adjust the size or the font of the cards?
The index card in the inspector maintains its ratio, so the wider you make it, the taller it gets too.
As for the corkboard, you can change the number of cards across (View > Corkboard), and with less cards across the cards will be bigger (you will be able to zoom them in 2.0). Also you can change the font to whatever you like for the index cards in the Preferences.
Of course, the idea is that the index cards are for short synopses of a sentence or two and the notes area may be more useful for longer descriptions of what should happen in the document.
Yes, and yes. To adjust the font for index cards (both Corkboard and Inspector use the same setting) check the Fonts and Colors section in application preferences. You should see lines for both Index cards title font, and Index cards text font.
To adjust the size of the cards, right-click in the corkboard and select how many cards across you would like to use. If you are putting a lot of info, you might try just one across.
As far as resizing the index card in the inspector, there isn’t really a good way of doing that, short of just making the inspector wider. The card is sized to retain 3x5 aspect ratio for consistency.
Thanks a lot, KB and AmberV for the speedy double support. I appreciate that very much. And it works fine on the corkboard. I adjusted it to one card across, and now it shows me a long line of rather spacious cards that can hold even my longish synopsis of each chapter easily.
