I currently use thinkspace on my iPad. I use to to create tables, bubbles for connecting thoughts, and hand write notes all with my apple pencil. I want to be able to sync my handwritten notes to my scrivener project so that I can go from my iPad to my computer and see my handwritten notes in my project. Is there another app the already does this for scrivener or a way I can connect an app to do that? Thank you!
I think the “import research files as aliases” function is your friend here. Once you figure out how to expose your notes as a file in the Mac OS file system – which will depend on the source application – importing the file as an alias will make it visible from within Scrivener while remaining accessible to its parent application.
Thank you for your help! Is there a tutorial somewhere about how to do the “import research files as aliases” function? I tried googling it but am having a difficult time finding any information on this function.
See Section 9.2 of the (Mac) Scrivener manual. That’s the “Gathering Material” chapter, which also exists but may have a different number in the Windows Scrivener manual.
Thank you so much for your help. I do use windows instead of Mac, but I was able to find what you were talking about. In Windows, it’s research files as shortcuts so that’s why I wasn’t finding it on my end I kept searching for aliases. I was able to send the note file to my dropbox and have it update as a research file to my computer. Only issue was it isn’t viewable on the iPad version of scrivener. I could upload the file each time I changed it instead of syncing it but that is too much work. At least I can use side by side mode on the iPad to view it while working on scrivener. Thank you again so much for helping me find this function!
