Issues related to opening and closing backups

I sometimes find that I’ve got two or more items with the identical project name in the Recent Project list, with no obvious way of differentiating them, other than opening them up.

This happens after I have been opening backups of the most current work version.

It gets messy, especially given that closing an opened backup will create an unnecessary backup of the backup.

One way around this would be if the Recent Projects menus could (at least optionally) show the full path of the listed items.

An alternate way of dealing with this would be if, when backups are made, the project folder inside the zip was given the same timestamped name as the zip itself, less the .zip extension, making it easy to differentiate baks from currents without needing to show the path in the Recent list. This would have the additional benefit of making it easier to have the current project and one or more backups in the same folder as the current, which would simplify wholesale project restoration: If a Current needs to be swapped out and replaced by a Bak, one or both of their folders can be manually renamed once that decision is made, but at no time would you be working with multiple projects with identical names, whether in the same or in different folders. (It’s possible to display the full proj path in the window title, but that only comes into play once the project is opened.)

Writing this, I wonder if this is only a ScrivWin issue, somehow connected to differences in how project folders and project .scrivx files are named…?

In any case, Scriv’s backup creation options are good, but actually juggling them when you need them can get a bit messy.
