ITRANS IAST Support

Dear Friends,

I am currently beta testing Scrivener for my research Journals. I use Roman script with transliteration.I use the International Alphabet of Sanskrit Transliteration (IAST) which is a subset of the ISO 15919 standard, and it is used for the transliteration of Sanskrit, Prakrit and Pāḷi into Roman script with diacritics.

It has a large use in research and thesis and I am unable to do it in Scrivener. For example the word “Prashna” in transliteration is written as Praśna. Scrivener marks it as spelling error. I added the word in dictionary but scrivener does not recognize it. Not only this scrivener does not even consider it as a single word. While learning or adding it from spelling dialog box, it marks “pr” as separate and “asna” as separate. It is happening with almost every word.

I was thinking about leaving word permanently and was loving scrivener. However, I am fixed at this point.

Thanks.

A.J

Since you’re using the beta, this problem can probably best be addressed in the beta forum: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=57. I hope they are able to devise a solution.
