Alright, so I don’t exactly understand the logic behind this bug, but here’s what I have found:
When I add a comment to a part of my text that contains a word, or many words, in italics, one of two things will happen:
The word in italics will be converted to regular text, that is, “I like this chocolate cake ” will become “I like this chocolate cake”.
The entire text will be converted to italics, that is, “I like this chocolate cake ” will become "I like this chocolate cake. .
These alterations remain even after I delete the comment.
Let me know if I need to explain this better. Thanks!

Not seeing that, but I am seeing blue underlines throughout the text that is commented.

I’m not seeing this, but it seems like the specific steps may matter. If you’re able to reproduce this consistently, could you detail the steps to take, including how you’re making the selection and creating the comment (shortcut, main toolbar button, etc.)? Is it happening in every project?
The editor text that is linked to the comment will appear as a link, by default blue and underlined. You can change how links are displayed under File > Options > Appearance: Textual Marks. Is that what you’re referring to, or is there some other underlining applying outside the text actually attached to the comment? A screenshot might be helpful in this case.

I don’t have any more time today to give this a go, but I have to wonder if it is in any way related to the bug I just reported: [url]https://forum.literatureandlatte.com/t/lh4717-rc10-hidpi-bug-remove-color-in-tables/92750/1 ].

How are you adding this text? Typing? Pasting? Selecting existing text and using the I nsert+>Com ment command?
If the latter (or possibly even pasting), does it matter if you end you selection with italicized text, or the non-italicized text?

That’s what I was referring to. Wasn’t expecting comments to change appearance suddenly, though. I can’t actually remember if I turned those on or not in seeing if I could reproduce a bug.
I remain curious regarding your first issue (italics/regular text), still wondering if this is related to my issue.
