Just overstating the obvious

Subject: A GLASS OF WINE
I knew there was a reason I don’t like drinking water.

A glass of wine

To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine

and those who don’t and are always

seen with a bottle of water in their hand:

As Ben Franklin said:

In wine there is wisdom,

In beer there is freedom,

In water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials,

scientists have demonstrated that if we drink

1 liter of water each day,

at the end of the year we would have absorbed

more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. Coli) - bacteria

found in feces.

In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop annually…

However,

We do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer

(or rum, whiskey or other liquor)

because alcohol has to go through a purification process

of boiling, filtering and fermenting.

Remember:

Water = Poop,

Wine = Health

Therefore, it’s better to drink wine and talk stupid,

than to drink water and be full of Shit .

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information:

I’m doing it as a public service

Brains of older people are slow because they know so much…

People do not decline mentally with age, it just takes them longer to recall facts because they have more information in their brains, scientists believe. Much like a computer struggles as the hard drive gets full up, so to do humans take longer to access information, it has been suggested.

Researchers say this slowing down it is not the same as cognitive decline.

The human brain works slower in old age, said Dr. Michael Ramscar, but only because we have stored more information over time The brains of older people do not get weak. On the contrary, they simply know more.

Also, older people often go to another room to get something and when they get there, they stand there wondering what they came for. It is NOT a memory problem, it is nature’s way of making older people do more exercise.

SO THERE!!

Vic

You are not overstating the obvious.
You are publishing serious truths.
These must constantly be reiterated because they are
1/ serious, and
2/ true.

Truthiness and seriosity are critical in times like these. If you live in or are in any way interested in the US political system, a sense of humor is also quite useful, and occasionally indispensable.

Phil

Gotta call bullshit on this part. More than 1 kilo of bacteria, not poop – and a type of bacteria already found in our gut at that. Most strains of e. coli are not harmful.

Devin, you have to realise that Vic is with us on this Earth to be an evangelist for Jamieson, Guinness and various other, and I quote, “heavenly brews”. Like all such evangelists, he will eschew such, for him, minor details put forward by the nay-sayers.

Mr X

Apparently we should all go and live in Chile. The recommended maximum weekly alcohol intake there is seven times what it is in the UK! Or so I heard this week, on the “Daily Politics” current affairs programme.

Oh, I’m not disagreeing with his thesis, by any means! But the clear benefits of alcohol are important enough that we need to sully ourselves with minor untruths.

I mean, all you have to do is look to the example of Jesus. HE clearly knew wine was superior to water.

Nowhere else in the Literary Cosmos, other than aboard Scrivener, will you discover this kind of 'word-play ’ brilliance. Luv it luv it!!
Meant to point out at the time of posting, that it was an email from my bruv-in-law … sorry.

maybe not in your neck of the woods, but these are typical of the horrors to be found in Stockport City centre during the binge drinking hours 7pm-3am.
