I know there’s a way to keep the search highlight on while working with a doc. For instance, I search for a certain word in the entire doc. If I edit one instance, the highlight disappears unless I press enter in the search field again.
I looked under preferences, but I didn’t readily see anything. What am I missing?

Are you saying that the preference does not work, or that you cannot find it? If you are looking for it, you’ll find it in Text Editing. Look down in the bottom section titled “Editor Options” in the bank of check boxes, “Editing clears search highlights”.
