Keeping "Chapter 1:" Off the Acknowledgements

I compile the Title page and Acknowledgments “As is” to avoid them getting a “Chapter X” title. Is that the best way to do it?

I tried putting them in a separate folder, but couldn’t get them to compile with the rest.

Thanks,

Al

“As-is” sounds like what you want–it will compile just the text of the document, using the editor formatting, and is intended for occasional use like this, where presumably the rest of your manuscript is being formatted during compile.

Changing the type of the item (e.g. from document to folder) or their level in the binder so that you could format them differently during compile–excluding the title and prefix, for instance, as well as using different paragraph formatting–is another option but more work to set up, so you’d really only need to bother if there were a reason “as-is” did not work for you, e.g. because you needed to have the title or you wanted a prefix but a different prefix from other similar files.
