This is the best idea since those little air fresheners you can hang on your pets’ tails to cover up their bungholes. +1!
No sir, I don’t like it. I would however like to see Lz try to jump over a tall cactus.
I think it would be superfluous, much like newbies playing around with the poll feature.

Suggestion: a keyboard shortcut to turn italicized text on/off [and a tooltip for it on mouse-over of the italics button].
A keyboard shortcut to apply italics to selected text would save me almost as much time. Apologies if it exists and I just missed it in the manual. This could also be handy for bold and underline.
Thanks again for Scrivener, I like it more every time I use it.
If you read the thread at the top of the page, which is entitled “BEFORE POSTING” you will find that Keith says in it:
“4. Features are not implemented on a voting system; features are only added if I feel they a) fit in with my over-all vision for Scrivener and b) are practical. (Thus, for instance, please never respond to existing suggestions with “+1”.)”
Keith has in the past asked people not to set up polls for features precisely because of this stance. However, I’m sure all suggestions will be taken seriously! (And I should add that I’m not one of the forum moderators, just someone who has visited regularly over several years, and is therefore used to its ways.)
It seems that “formatting” shortcuts are somehow assumed missing on both platforms (more often windows than mac). I’m not sure if there is a UI hint missing or maybe an explicit entry in the tutorial, or something that says “use the OS default shortcut key sequence for basic text formatting like bold, underline and italic”.
Just and observation.
