Kindle document creation failed.

KindleGen failed to generate a .mobi file at the expected location.

I have Scrivener version 3.0.1 (966) on a MacBook Pro (2016), and version 3.0 (75) on my iMac (Mid 2011).
Both are running High Sierra 10.13.2.
I also use it on iOS. I store my documents in dropbox. All my devices access from the same location.

I have been editing and revising four novels. I have been compiling for Kindle KF8/Mobi for a few months.
Everything has been fine. I haven’t changed anything other than to format some of my chapters with a style (and then went back to ‘no style’). This was a while ago and I have successfully compiled since doing this.

Today, when I tried to format my books on my MacBook Pro, the compile failed and I got the above error messages.

If I try and save it as a Kindle/mobi (not KF8) it works.

If I do the compile on my old iMac, it works (including KF8)

I have uninstalled and redownloaded Scrivener and KindleGen 3.0 and reinstalled both on my MacBook Pro… I still have the same problem.

I think I had Scrivener version 3.0 (75) on both Macs until this evening when I re-downloaded and went to the latest version, but I’m not sure.

Below is the error report.

Can anyone see what is happening and how I can get back to working on my MacBook Pro?

There is a bug in Scrivener 3.0.1 that causes the “nav” error in your log. The workaround is to edit the compile format, and make the HTML Page Title Setting equal to “None”, not sure if it will allow the compile to succeed due to your other warnings but worth a try…

Nontroppo, thanks for the prompt response.
That did the trick!
So it was having 3.0.1 -v- 3.0 on my two machines that allowed one to work and not the other.
Created a new project format for the 3.0.1 and I am back up and running.

Glad it helped, hope it will be fixed soon when 3.0.2 is released…

This is the error I get, could you please post a screenshot of the option you describe. I am not finding it.

In the compiler (⌥⌘E) either you need to “duplicate and edit” or edit a compile format for KF8; in my screenshot I’ve "duplicated and edit"ed the Ebook compile format, then go to the HTML Elements section and make sure Page title style is set to none:
