KindleGen for Mac

I need help installing KindleGen on a Mac 10.5.8. I do not understand the instructions about Terminal or making a command! Why can’t you just double click the thing?! Can someone explain the method in simple terms? Thanks.

Oh right. Yep. Done it. What an idiot.

To use KindleGen with Scrivener you don’t actually need to do anything in Terminal. Just download the .zip file from Amazon and double-click it to extract the contents, then drag that folder to your Applications folder in Finder. Once you’ve done that, go to File > Compile… in Scrivener and select “KindleGen”, then click the button to select the “kindlegen” file in the folder you just placed in Applications. Scrivener will then take care of actually running all the necessary commands when you compile your work, so you don’t have to mess with any of that.

EDIT: Ah, glad you got it!

Where were the instructions you found that said you needed to use Terminal? I’d like to check that and make sure it is clear whatever they pertain to is advanced usage.
