Kudos to Scrivener

Just spent about eight months (with a few side trips to other projects) researching, outlining, discussing, outlining, re-discussing, re-outlining and developing three different approaches to a treatment, and then produced a first draft script in about two weeks. For me, that first draft has to be a world record.
I give a lot of credit to my collaborator, who had to dig deep into his experiences as the friend of a famous musician and confront some difficult memories. I also salute Scrivener software, a very powerful writing tool. I exported my screenplay formatted Scrivener project to a RTF file, imported that into Movie Magic’s Screenwriter, and it took less than half an hour to tidy things up.
