Legal numbering in compile

Ok, I’m struggling with numbering placeholder tags again.

How do I create a legal/technical numbering tag to do the following?

  1. Level 1 title from document/folder name
1.1 Next document from within level 1
    1.2 And next

  2. Next top-level folder.

So far, I can’t only seem to get:

  1. Level 1 title from document/folder name
2.1 Next document from within level 1
    3.2 And next

  2. Next top-level folder.

Or can’t I do this automatically on the iPad version?

I could also do with being able to cross reference as in “see section <1.1 Next document from within level 1>” or similar. With the section in angle brackets being generated.

Thanks in advance.
Mike

Hi - any reply gratefully received, thanks.

Hi Mike,

Hierarchical numbering is not supported in the iOS version of Compile. You’ll need to use macOS for that.

All the best,
Keith
