I just started using the beta version, and I notice a big (for me) difference between my original Scrivener. My setup includes a blue folder (which are my chapters) and then white text documents (these are my scenes) inside the blue folder. My current Scrivener version allows me to click on the blue folder in the Binder and then write and/or edit inside any of the white text sheets. The beta version doesn’t allow for this; in order to write or edit inside the white sheets, you must be clicked on the white sheet in the Binder. I work this way so I can set a target word count for each chapter (I don’t worry about a target word count for each scene, as long as together they combine near my chapter target count).
I’m running beta version 2.9.0.1 on Windows 10, the project I’m working with is actually a copy of an older project and is saved on my hard drive as well as Dropbox. Automatic backups go to my D drive.
