[LH2846] Document bookmark view not restored after loading Draft/Research/Trash

When I’m in the Inspector and click on “Bookmarks” I can switch between Projects and Documents. Above these icons is another icon in the toolbar. It is just for Project Bookmarks that will result in a popup when clicked. The problem I run into is clicking on “Research” (on purpose or accident) in the binder causes the two state bookmark selection to automatically go to “Projects” and it stays that way until I recognize it changed and manually change it back myself. Clicking on “Trash” in the binder is another automatic change to “Projects”. I can’t figure out if these are embedded attributes through code or attributes I set through menu/options.

SUGGESTIONS:

  1. Eliminate auto-change state for bookmark and let the user manually change it. If I want a quick way to access “Project Bookmarks” there is a dedicated icon for that in the toolbar (assuming I don’t remove it).

  2. Add a “Document Bookmark” icon for the toolbar to function similarly like “Projects” but with “Document” info.

The Draft, Research, and Trash folders are unique in Scrivener’s binder and do not have their own notes, synopses, or document bookmarks; thus, selecting any of them will switch the inspector to showing the project rather than document bookmarks. There is a bug with how this is working currently, however, in that it is not correctly switching back to document bookmarks when a regular item is loaded.

Document Bookmarks are associated with individual binder documents, whereas Project Bookmarks are global, so a floating panel wouldn’t work very well for these. The floating panel is also connected with the ability to open the project bookmarks as a sidebar in a Quick Reference window and use it as a way to load the different bookmarks directly in the QR–which wouldn’t make much sense if the list was constantly changing based on items loaded in the editor.
