Double-clicking on a word preceeded by an opening quote (that is « or “) or followed by a closing quote (» or ”), or both, selects the quotes as well, but it shouldn’t.
Also, double-clicking on a word separated from another by an apostrophe selects both words AND the apostrophe; it should select only the word I double-clicked on.

No, This is a problem that exists. Double-clicking “said” to change it will grab the quotation marks as well. I’ve seen this in French, German, and English with both double- and single- quotes.

Will this bug be fixed before release?
Relax. They aren’t going to tell us when the release is, so all you need to do is check the release notes for each new RC version and see if this bug [LH2923] is marked as fixed.
If the release is 3.0 and this bug hasn’t been reported fixed, then the answer is “no.” Otherwise, we’re probably not going to get a hard answer.
