[LH4025] Need help - can't get compiler to export footnotes as endnotes

I’ve read through everything I can find on the compiler, including the Mac 3.0 manual, and I’ve watched the videos, but I can’t figure out how to convert my footnotes to endnotes. In my work, I’ve made the footnotes in the inspector, but I’ve converted them to inline footnotes as I understand that’s the only way to convert them to endnotes. I then compile, with the “Export inline footnotes as endnotes” box ticked, but the footnotes still come in as footnotes in the Word doc I’m exporting to.

I’ve also ticked the boxes “Remove comments” and “Remove annotations.” I have no annotations, but my comments are still being added to the Word doc.

I have a deadline coming up and my publisher wants footnotes as endnotes. Any advice would be very much appreciated. If this capability is not yet implemented, would it work to find someone with a Mac and do it there?

This is a bug and has been filed. Thanks.

I hate to say this, because Scrivener should definitely have this capability. However…

If it’s going to stay as a Word document, you can convert footnotes to endnotes in Word: https://www.extendoffice.com/documents/word/4534-word-convert-footnotes-to-endnotes.html

If it’s going to become some other format, such as PDF, you might try compiling to that, as behavior may not be the same.

Thank you! The reference to ExtendOffice is really helpful. Hopefully this will get fixed at some point. My publisher wants my files in Word format, so that’s how they’ll have to be.
