Linking to Outlook email

I see that it is possible to create a link to an email, but I don’t see how to do so for the specific email in Outlook I need linked.

Are you asking more about how to get a link to an email in Outlook, rather than how to add a link in Scrivener? If so, I have no idea, sorry, but I’ll move the query to the right section regarding general software discussion.

The answer is Drag and Drop. Drag the email from the navigation list of emails and drop it into the document text of a doc in Scrivener. That will create a link in your Scriv doc to the email in question.

Note: The link it creates is to the file of that email (.eml). Whatever app is empowered to open such files on your computer by default will be the app that opens it when you hit that link. If Outlook is not the designated app, you may be surprised when that Outlook email opens in Mail or something.

Also note: you will see the email, but all that you are guaranteed is that the relevant app will open it. You should not expect the app to navigate itself to where that email appears in your mailboxes. It’s just opening an external file for you.
