I’ve used Ulysses on and off for years. It’s an excellent program but in the end I preferred other tools. Partly it’s because their markdown is just different enough to cause friction when you want to use it as an external editor (e.g. with DT3). Still, a fine program.
Yes: he’s also written a guide to writing novels with Ulysses (after previously writing one about Scrivener). They’re both good practical books.
I remember David Hewson from when he was a correspondent (technology, I think, but memory may be playing tricks) on The Sunday Times, before he became a full time novelist. He’s always interesting on writing and software.
