I would love something that locked onto Scrivener for a predetermined amount of time - set prior to the lock. So that I would not be able to go to my browser, email, see growl notifications etc …

basically something like:
macupdate.com/app/mac/31289/selfcontrol
SelfControl is an OS X application which blocks access to incoming and/or outgoing mail servers and websites for a predetermined period of time. For example, you could block access to your email, facebook, and twitter for 90 minutes, but still have access to the rest of the web. Once started, it can not be undone by the application or by restarting the computer, you must wait for the timer to run out.

Have you considered setting yourself up with a “Writing” account on your Mac? You can use the parental control feature to make the account restricted to only load certain applications and access certain functions. In combination with an external drive or use of the public user folders, so you can easily get at your stuff from the other account, it’s the easiest way to “cripple” yourself.

If you want something like this, then I recommend downloading Freedom - although it seems you have already found something that does the same. There’s no need for Scrivener to do this seeing as there are already third-party apps that provide this functionality, and it lies out of Scrivener’s scope and would add to support unnecessarily.

Incidentally, please don’t start polls in the Wish List section as they will have no effect on our decisions to implement features - we do not operate on the basis of a vote system.

All the best,
