Hi. When I compile my document and customize my headers, I can see them fine in the PDF print preview. However, when I actually export them as either rtf or doc files (and subsequently open them in textedit for final formatting), the headers are no longer there. I even tried downloading Bean and opening up the rtf/doc files in that program, but I still don’t see the headers. Am I doing something wrong, or is it simply impossible to view the headers in free programs like textedit? I’ve tried googling and searching the FAQ’s, so I’m sorry if this is a dumb question. Thanks very much.
TextEdit doesn’t support header or footer blocks, and Bean is based on the same engine. I’d recommend using OpenOffice to preview RTF files before sending them out. That will be much closer to what other people will see in Word, without have to spend the money on Word.
