macro for inspector note entry?

Hello scriveners,
I read in the manual I think that a convenient way to place an inspector footnote or comment so that it can be moved around your draft is to enter the ^, then select it and then insert the note or comment. this is a nice workaround, but it would be even better if one could automate it somehow–

if this were Word I’d just write a macro to insert and then select the caret. but I gather we can’t write macros in Scriv. can anybody think of a way to do this? the trick is to automate not the insertion of the caret (that’s easy) but the selection of it after the insertion.

can anybody think of a way to do this?
thanks!

I’d check out AutoHotKey, which is a good general purpose automation and macro writing program that works with most software.
