Being able to view an outline of the project is a great feature, and I use it a lot.
I’ve created a macro to bring it up with a single keystroke, but other users have to go through this process:
Page to top of the binder
Click Manuscript
Click the Outline toolbar button
Move focus to the editor
Choose View/Outline/Expand All
Sometimes: workaround but the causes first column to fill the editor.
Consider adding a “Show me the Outline!” button that will do all this.
Well, our opinion on this is that the outline should just show whatever you were doing last with it, and that this is a contextual declaration at that. For example, if I click on Draft and I had last had Chapter 4 fully expanded but nothing else, that is what I should see. However, if when I last clicked on Chapter 3 it had all but one subsection fully expanded, that is what I should see. We don’t yet have this view fully persistent yet, but that’s the goal, and I think that ultimately this would work for you, because if you want to see the Draft fully expanded, you can do that, and then it will go on being that way forever until you change your mind.
