Making Scrivener Links

Making Scrivener links can take a lot of menu crawling, esp if you want to make a lot of them, as the Link To Document dialog box must be reopened each time, and doesn’t retain its previous resized state, making the menu-crawl especially non-compelling.

How about being able to right-click on the target doc in the binder, and have its internal ID copied to the clipboard, and then being able to paste that directly into a field in the Link To Document dialog box?

Oh! I see this (the end result) is already there, via the Copy Special Scrivener Links item. How great. Never mind.

Then again, there is something useful that could be added to Scrivener Links…

Under Options -> Navigation, you can set whether clicked Scrivener links open in the Current Editor or the Other Editor.

If would be good if there was another option to allow a for overriding/reversing the current setting with a Ctrl+click or Shift+click, for those occasions when it would be more convenient to keep the currently set target window as is.

Yes, if we can get the text engine to do that, some click modifiers are on the list of things to do.

In the meanwhile, you can right-click the link and use the Open Document Link In submenu to select the editor.
