Boy, have I been out of touch! AmberV is a man. Yes, count me among the formerly ‘proud’ to have AmberV represent my gender. Oh well, change is the only constant in the created universe, eh? Hello, Ioa! I still like you and think you are a wonderful asset to the team, even if you are a man.
And Huey (yes, I recognized the avatar immediately of the little guys from Silent Running–Bruce Dern’s best performance in my book) is Keith’s new avatar. That is a beautiful and sad movie–can’t watch it again, makes me too sad.
2.0 about to be released (which in reality I new was coming). I am hard at work writing and using 2.0. Will get the released version soon. I have never stopped using Scrivener, though after hearing Keith’s lovely voice in the tutorial, I now know I’ve been saying the name all wrong. Love that accent, Keith!
I personally like the new icons just fine. I can’t understand all the hoopla about icons. Scrivener with all its amazing features, and the thing people focus on is icons. I know I’m being insensitive and this is a big deal to some people. Sorry for that. All I can say is focus on what is important–the writing–and the eye will adjust.
Well, back to work. I hope to be around the forum more often, so hope to reconnect with old friends and make some new ones. Probably will, now that 2.0 is officially out and there will be some good info on usage and such. I’m sure there are many discoveries I have yet to make with all the new features.
Welcome back, Alex. We have missed you. Good to know you are alive, well, and thriving out there in Ecotopia. Hope your writing projects are going well and that your morning tea continues to be ambrosial. It’s nice to exchange pleasantries like this instead of explaining and defending Scrivener to the—dare I say it—hordes of new users swarming in from The Dark Side.
Thanks! Good to be back, though I have missed much and have some catching up to do regarding Scrivener. I’ve been using it, but narrowly to get some needed work completed.
Nice to see some things have NOT changed, eh Le D??
Hay there, Alex, welcome back!! How’s Dakota?? What are you doing with her these days?
Pokey is giving me a run for my money, but is a total blast to ride, even with all four feet off the ground. And she JUMPS. An Ay-rab/Saddlebred–who woulda thunk it?
Molly is enjoying semi-retirement. I hop on her every few weeks, so she can demonstrate just how much she prefers to remain in her pasture.
Hi Mollys Mum! Good to hear from you. Dakota is wonderful. Still growing, but I started her under saddle last spring. She was ready and I got a good 3 months on her, teaching her the basics. She’s a very quick study and it’s been a blast working with her. This fall I’ve been riding her very lightly. I am seeing the advantage of starting them young, at least with her. She’s so open, responsive and willing! It’s been a breeze training her. No explosions, just a lot of fun and working together. I’m giving her most of the winter off, taking her on long walks, doing ground stuff with her like when she was younger.
I have never owned a quarter horse before and have to say, I like it. Mostly I worked with thoroughbred and arab types, did a lot of hunter/jumper and eventing, but also a lot of long trail rides. With Dakota, I have maybe the strongest connection I’ve ever had with a horse–I’m sure because I got her as a baby. And her temperament is so different than what I’m used to–she’s calm, confident, extremely smart. She has yet to say ‘no’ to anything I’ve presented to her. A few 'are you sure??'s and 'really, you want me to do that???'s. But never a definitive NO.
Anyway, thanks for asking about my favorite subject!!
