Having text read to you is a great way spot typos and other issues. Scrivener has that feature, but if you need more bells and whistles, including the ability to transfer that speech to an iDevice, Narrator might be what you need.

DealMac says the special offer ends Christmas Day. The site itself seems to say the offer will run until December 27th.
The hitch is that you have to:
- Create an account with StackSocial
- Tweet or Facebook your purchase to friends.
Taking a quick look, it seems quite powerful. Among other things, you can set different voices for different characters. If you’re doing a screenplay, that could result in a more realistic ‘reading aloud.’ Some dialogue that looks OK in print doesn’t sound right when read or acted.
It’s also a way to get a book or long document that you only have as text covered into speech and read aloud to you.
