media file in QuickReference

One of the features I love about Scrivener is being able to play a media file in one window of a split layout… especially the ability to stop/start & fforward/rewind with keyboard shortcuts and not have to click out of the other window that I’m typing in.
Is there any way to achieve the same result with the QuickReference window? I have a split window already populated with a corkboard view in one and a scrivening in the one I’m writing in and a QuickTime movie of reference material in the QuickReference window. I’m able to use the keyboard shortcuts (that I’ve reassigned to Fkeys) to control the movie but only if I click in & out of the QuickReference window… which kind of defeats the magic of the feature. Is there any way to get this to work in the same way that media in a split window works?

This isn’t possible, and this is also one of the reasons why Scrivener has never supported more than two splits, too. It wouldn’t know which media file you mean to pause and resume if you have more than one open at once. Consider if you had three opened up in QR windows, which one should get paused? The last one you activated? That might not be the one you really want, and it would limit what you could easily do as you would always have to make sure you clicked the main media window last if you fiddled with meta-data or so on. Having two integrated split windows lets you do “magical” things that otherwise wouldn’t make sense—and these things don’t really make sense in QR windows wither.
