Very small problem : in the french version of the Beta version of Scrivener for Windows : the Edit/Transformation submenu (in French ; Edition/Transformation) is in English.
By the way, it would be great to have shortcuts for putting text in upper case or lower case. It would useful, if you write film or TV scripts.
Or maybe there is a way to costumize shortcuts that i dont’ know of?
C’est encore en beta (release candidate, vraiment ? :/) et la traduction est loin d’être complète. Espérons qu’elle sera améliorée avant la sortie. Pour l’instant, elle stagne à 50 ou 60%. Les clients non anglophones ne sont clairement pas dans leurs priorités.
Il n’y a pas de raccourci disponible pour mettre en capitales. Même la suite le touches commençant par Alt+é (qui ouvre le menu éditer) ne fonctionne pas, il y a plusieurs “t” comme lettres soulignées dans le menu. Tous les menus sont “cassés” ainsi, et en plus je les trouve moins logiques que dans la 1.9. Un comble.
Mais ce n’est qu’un problème parmi bien d’autres. J’ai de quoi remplir des pages rien qu’avec les problèmes de raccourcis foireux…
Dans l’état, pour les non anglophones, le logiciel est pratiquement inutilisable. Et les réactions de l’équipe comme des fanboys quand on leur signale des problèmes aussi majeurs ne sont pas rassurants. Ils n’aiment pas être contrariés.

I’m not aware of any “fanboys” that have said incomplete translation is not a major problem for non-English speakers. It certainly is. I would also say that your accusation that non-English customers “are not a priority” would need a lot more evidence. You are talking about a tiny team of programmers (2) that are based in the UK. They obviously aren’t going to develop in a second language first. Once they have a release version, not a release candidate, and can start selling it to English speaking clients, they will almost certainly invest the resources need to finish translations. And French will almost certainly be one of the first of those languages.
If you want to volunteer your services to help with the translation for free to speed up the process by not having to wait for additional cash flow to buy a translator’s services, I’m sure they will gladly accept your help.
Be patient. If 1.9 is better for you now, then keep using 1.9 until the translation is complete. Don’t buy the product until it is ready for your use.
I sent you a PM. But I was expressing a concern you do not have. If the software was in hindi, and the translations was hawkward and the shortcuts keys unisables in something called Release Candidate 2, you would probably be a bit anxious.
Also, the question was “where is the shortcut to make a selection upper case” Most of my answer was adressing this. If you have a better answer, feel free to help.
Actually, according to Google translate, 40% or so of your answer addressed that question, as well as a kind offer of assistance. The remainder of your post was you bitching.

I knew this was a very small problem when I wrote that post. I also know that this a Beta version, but I didn’t knew it was such a small team of programmers. Great job, if they are just two persons !..
Coders have To do lists. I just wanted to point that very small problem to them so that they add it on their To do list. Not for them to find a solution right away. I really can manage with a few menus in English…
Criticizing Mr. jljovano for bitching, specially through Googles Translate, shows a major difference of views, between French people and English-speaking ones.
French people tend to complain, to bitch, to argue, to explain. And by doing that, they change the world.
(I’m a French-talking Belgian, so it’s a bit different here.)
Scrivener 3 for Windows is still in Beta. Our task, as consumer, is to point whatever problem we have with it. Mr. jljovano should send a list of his problems (per exemple the problems with shortcuts), It could invaluable feedback for the coders.
