Midway through tutorial, I purchased Scrivener, after I registered it I couldn’t get back to the beginning. I could not do Step 1. Beginnings. Help. what do I do? 
You can’t change the contents of the editor by clicking on Step 1: Beginnings in the binder? Can you see the title of your current document at the top of the editor pane (below the Scrivener toolbar)? If you can’t go to View->Layout->Header View.
With the header of the editor visible, does it appear red/pink? If so, then click into the editor and then go to View->Editor->Lock in place. This should change the header to a more neutral grey/blue-grey. Now your clicks in the binder should be reflected in the editor.
